This place is awesome. Our family of 5 just ate lunch here. Our waitress was fast and very attentive towards our whole group. We ordered appetizers of Calamari and Blue Crab Bites. Both were lightly fried and very good. Grilled Shrimp was also cooked to perfection. My wife had the Fried Shrimp and you could hardly tell there was any batter on the Shrimp. The side of Fried Corn is a must. Buttery, warm, and tasty. We sat outside on the deck and watched the boats come up the waterway. My 2 year old granddaughter especially loved the birds that were flying around. Don't be turned off by the outer appearance, because you will be pleased.
This is the type of place the locals tell you about. This place has probably the best seafood the Grand Strand has to offer. Nothing fancy. Just great food.
We are staying in the South Strand and the drive to Little River is not bad at all.
We will be making a second trip here before the week is out. And maybe a third. -

No time to write a specifi review.... but food great!
Excellent service!
Thank you
Update 10/21/2019.
Today this place only gets 2.5 stars from us. (stars all go to the service) Went back tonight with friends/local neighbors. We decided to check it out again because our family will be renting a house just up the road.
Once again, the service was excellent. The server (James) was terrific. Sadly we can't say as much for the food. Very disappointing all around.
From clam chowder (thin, watery), to gumbo (eh), clams were pretty sandy, fishy fish. Just not what we remembered from a year ago.
Not sure what happened. Unfortunately just very disappointed. -

So, the hushpuppies are the bomb, the outside dock dining is a great idea, except that there is sparse coverage and my husband got shit on by a seagull. The waitress just kinda laughed and didn't offer a wet rag or anything. The calamari is frozen, not fresh. Rubbery and fishy.
I HIGHLY recommend the fish bites! Especially the Mahi! They are delicious. You get a ton of it as an appetizer. The pound of boiled peel and eat shrimp are ginormous.
Overall, it was a decent place to eat. I would suggest eating inside though... -

Awesome spot with a great view of the intercoastal if you sit on the outside porch. Food is top notch as are the drinks and the service makes the experience that much better. The fried corn on the cob here is a must try. They also sell ice cream sandwiches are to die for a nice dessert. Cant wait to go back

Hidden Gem! Wow, very yummy, fresh and perfectly seasoned snow crab legs!
Located in Little River down Mineola Road, Crab Catchers is the last restaurant after the curve right on the water. The restaurant itself is small but cozy. There is dining inside, outside and there are bars in each setting. The view is amazing (of the river) and the back deck is huge.
Tina (the bartender inside) was awesome! She was friendly, fast and professional. I sat at the bar and ate my meal. The bar has one tv and you can see the water from a side view out past the deck.
The have a large selection of beer and liquor but limited on wine offering and they serve in plastic dollar store style purple wine glasses. They also do not have craft cocktails.
The clam chowder was seriously perfect. Not too creamy at all and filled with veggies, small clams and potatoes. I had a pound of snow crabs for my meal. While they were small they were certainly fresh and very tasty. For $2.50 more I upgraded to the "meal" which included a side, coleslaw and hush puppies. The key lime pie is made in house and was very delicious! Highly recommend!
Parking is plentiful and crab catchers has its own lot with a man on a golf cart who will give you a ride if you park too far away.
This would be an ideal 5 star restaurant but there was one server who would scream at the top of her lungs her drink order for her tables from across the room and it became VERY obnoxious for those of us trying to enjoy our meals at the bar.
I will definitely be back. Cheers!
